Sunrays Lose Contest, 7-3
The Mt. Vernon Cyclones knocked off the Ontario Sunrays, 7-3, in Sub League 2 action at Mt. Vernon Grounds. Mt. Vernon pitcher and Nouakchott, Mauritania, native Dara Qutaiba had an outstanding performance. Willie Ocasio picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Harrison Tatta, who is tied for 8th in the SL2 with a 7.9 K/9 rate, was tagged with the loss. The win makes Mt. Vernon 21-24.

Mike Jackson took Ontario hurler Harrison Tatta deep in the bottom of the seventh. His solo home run put the Cyclones on top, 4-3. In all, Jackson had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Qutaiba.
