Gentry Terrific in 8-1 Montgomery Triumph
The first-place Montgomery Missions took on the Santa Barbara Super Troopers in front of a spirited crowd.

The Santa Barbara Super Troopers had to reckon with Montgomery Missions hurler Mike Gentry. Gentry, who is tied for 2nd in the SL2 in complete games with 1, overwhelmed the opposition in the 8-1 Missions triumph. The loss makes Santa Barbara 34-8.

Gentry, who dominated for Montgomery, earned the victory to move to 4-3. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 8. Santa Barbara batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"Mike's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Montgomery manager Hoa Nguyen-Dinh.
