The Savannah Alpines faced a tough opponent in Sikeston pitcher Will Clark, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Shamrocks Park by a final score of 5-1. Clark went 8.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Andres Castillejos got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Danny Barrera nailed down his 4th save.

Savannah used a timely hit from Pael Espanol to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Alpines ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

Espanol told the Savannah Observer: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."

The Alpines raised their record to 16-27.
