Mt. Vernon Sends Savannah Packing with 8-1 Loss
The Mt. Vernon Cyclones got a stellar effort from pitcher Dara Qutaiba, helping Mt. Vernon score a win over the visiting Savannah Alpines, 8-1. Willie Ocasio earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. With the victory, the Cyclones record stands at 18-22.

Gwang-oo Shroyer had a big 2-run double for the Cyclones in the bottom of the first inning. With Mt. Vernon leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 17-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Soto and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cyclones ahead, 3-0.

Said losing manager Ryan Allen: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
