Alpines Win Thriller, 6-5
The Savannah Alpines did just enough to sneak past the Niskayuna Fighting Knights, 6-5, at Alpines Stadium. Savannah pitcher Casey Thill, in particular, had a standout performance. The victory puts Savannah at 15-23.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Savannah. That's when Mike Fitzgerald hit a solo home run off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Ruiz to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Fitzgerald said.
