The Mt. Vernon Cyclones withstood an impressive performance by Anaheim designated hitter Aaron Went to defeat the Music, 5-3, at Music Grove. Went was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Cory Hobbs closed the door for Mt. Vernon, picking up his 8th save of the year. Mt. Vernon, at 14-20, sits in 5th place in the Sub League 2 East Division.

Jason King broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the fourth with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Cyclones in front, 3-2. For the game, King went 1-5.
