Wranglers Take Down Sunrays, 3-2
|
The Newport News Wranglers snuck past the Ontario Sunrays, 3-2, in 10 innings. Newport News pitcher Alex Gonzales, in particular, had a standout performance. The win puts the Wranglers at 17-12, while the Sunrays drop to 11-18.
The Wranglers got a clutch hit from catcher Rob Carrigan. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Wranglers.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Newport News manager Adam Tate.
