Sikeston pitcher Mike Reich did his part in helping his team beat the Newport News Wranglers, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The win puts Sikeston at 1-1.

Kevin Mortensen contributed to the Sikeston win with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
