The 2024 season did not get off to quite the start the Anaheim Music had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Wichita Panthers at Music Grove. The final score was 11-8. Catcher George Gericke was the top performer for Wichita. Wichita reliever David Koontz picked up the win to move to 1-0. David Vasquez suffered the loss.

Wichita needed the clutch hitting of Aaron Anderson to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Panthers on top, 10-8. For the game, Anderson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Panthers manager Ross Meister. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
