Montgomery pitcher Roberto Lopez did his part in helping his team defeat the Anaheim Music, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Lopez yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 1-1. Jeff O'Donovan earned the save for Montgomery, his 5th of the year.

In the bottom of the sixth, Montgomery catcher David Henning put his team on top. With one out and a runner on 1st, he hit his 2nd home run of the year. Anaheim pitcher Phil DiDomenico served it up. Just like that, the Missions were ahead, 3-2.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Lopez. "Successful pitchers do it."
