Ontario designated hitter Andy Jacobi contributed significantly to his team's 10-3 win over the Carson City Miners. Jacobi, who is tied for 4th in the SL2 in triples with 1, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Sunrays. Angel Silva, the winner, is now 1-3. He struck out 3 and walked 1 over 7 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 9 hits. The Sunrays have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 6th win in 18 games.

Matt Strader had a big 3-run home run for the Sunrays in the bottom of the second inning. With Ontario leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Meza and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Sunrays on top, 4-0.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Strader told the Ontario Times.
