Mitchell Leads Black Aces to Win
|
The Santa Ana Black Aces topped the Aurora Paints, 7-2, with youngster Mike Mitchell playing a key role. Mitchell went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Black Aces in the win. Roberto Alcaide got the win, improving to 10-6. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. The first-place Black Aces have won 10 in a row.
Mitchell had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-0 fastball from Willie Garcia, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Black Aces a 3-2 lead. It was the 26th home run of the year for Mitchell.
Said Black Aces manager Elias Quesada: "We're playing a good brand of baseball."
