Cyclones Victorious at Niskayuna, 2-0
|
Right-hander Adam Noland mesmerized the Niskayuna Fighting Knights while leading the Mt. Vernon Cyclones to a 2-0 victory. The triumph makes Mt. Vernon 10-8, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2025.
The Fighting Knights had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cyclones going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old third baseman Li-ren Ning came to the plate. Ning hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch slider from Niskayuna hurler Bill Castro. It was Ning's 1st home run of the year.
"Adam made some big pitches when he needed to," said Cyclones manager Tom Whiting.
