Despite a great performance by Montgomery first baseman Danny Solis, the Newport News Wranglers defeated the Missions by the score of 7-5 at Missions Grove. Solis went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Newport News has a mark of 10-7 after the win.

Brian Beason, who is tied for 7th in the SL2 in bases on balls with 10, aided the Newport News cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop drew 3 walks.
