Wranglers Bag 3-1 Win
|
Alpines Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Savannah Alpines and Newport News Wranglers.
The Newport News Wranglers had to overcome a good performance from Savannah pitcher Roberto Tapia to claim a 3-1 win at Alpines Stadium. Tapia went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. J.D. Hennis finished the game for Newport News and earned his 1st save.
Ian Schelling had a direct impact on the outcome. Schelling contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Newport News up, 2-0.
Schelling called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The Wranglers, with only their 3rd win in 15 games, have not had much to write home about in 2025.
