|
Providence first baseman Justin Wish was a significant contributor in his team's 4-2 triumph over the Medford Desperados. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Hex. Rich Abril claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 4-3. Ben Foster was called on to finish, recording his 9th save.
The Hex got a big at-bat from designated hitter Steve Jarvis. For the game, Jarvis went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Providence a 4-2 lead.
