In a close game at Music Grove, the Anaheim Music edged the Newport News Wranglers, 3-2. Anaheim catcher Ryan Rosenson stood apart with his performance. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jose Robles, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The loss drops Newport News to 1-7.
With Anaheim trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Rosenson hit a splitter from Jim Unknown for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Music ahead, 2-1.
"It's a long season," said Rosenson. "We'll keep working to improve."
