The Savannah Alpines defeated the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 4-2, at Alpines Stadium. Savannah was led by 21-year old center fielder Victor Ontiveros, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kareem Jackson, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Jeff Eddins got credit for the save for Savannah. It was his 2nd of the year.

Ontiveros contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Savannah in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Ontiveros took a fastball from Miguel Romero and stroked the home run to right. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Alpines to leap in front, 4-2.

Ontiveros attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

The loss drops Santa Barbara to 6-5.
