Panthers Win at Mt. Vernon, 11-7
The Wichita Panthers used the hitting of catcher Curtis Wojtysiak to subdue the Mt. Vernon Cyclones, 11-7. For the game, Wojtysiak went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Dave Perez, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 4 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. Chris Brown closed the game out for Wichita, earning his 1st save.

With Wichita leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, Wojtysiak hit a sinker from Rico Lopez for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Panthers ahead, 9-4.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Wichita manager Ross Meister.
