Alpines Get Clutch Win Versus Sikeston
|
Fans watched the Savannah Alpines and the Sikeston Shamrocks fight to the finish.
The Savannah Alpines beat the Sikeston Shamrocks, 3-2, at Alpines Stadium. The win was due in part to left fielder Jody Clark, who went 2 for 2 with a triple, a double, and 3 walks. He scored 2 times. The loss drops the Shamrocks to 6-4.
Savannah took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Luis Amador hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Alpines in front, 3-2.
"Nice to get this one," said Amador. "We've been scuffling."
