Super Troopers Lose to Panthers in Walk-Off
|
The Wichita Panthers racked up a win at Panthers Park, bumping off the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, 4-3. Mark Montgomery, who started for Wichita, pitched effectively for his team. Wichita goes to 4-0.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 3-3, 22-year old second baseman Mikkel Goldbaek won it for Wichita. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Goldbaek hit a 1-1 fastball from Steve Albrecht for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 4-3 win.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Goldbaek said.
