Mt. Vernon and Niskayuna got after it at Fighting Knights Field.

The Mt. Vernon Cyclones knocked off the Niskayuna Fighting Knights, 8-5, at Fighting Knights Field. Li-ren Ning was a big reason Mt. Vernon won. The second baseman belted 3 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring three times. Jeff Reade earned the save for Mt. Vernon, his 2nd.

Mt. Vernon used the hitting of Johnny Harris to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Cyclones on top, 2-0. For the game, Harris had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Ning.

The win moves Mt. Vernon to a record of 3-0.
