Gruber slugs 2 home runs, Leads Panthers to Win
A 3-RBI performance from first baseman Rick Gruber led the Wichita Panthers to a win over the Montgomery Missions, 11-9. Wichita reliever Jesse Soto was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jeff O'Donovan. With the win, Wichita elevates its record to 1-2.

Wichita third baseman Leo Gracia produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the top of the ninth with Jeff O'Donovan on the mound and Wichita leading 10-9. Gracia drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Wichita manager Ross Meister.
