The Niskayuna Fighting Knights spoiled a good performance by Savannah shortstop Salvador Lodi, bumping off Savannah, 5-4, at Fighting Knights Field. Lodi was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The winner was Niskayuna reliever Alfredo Sanchez, now 1-0. The loser was Hector Ibarra. The win has Niskayuna at 1-1.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Niskayuna. That's when Ken Beck hit a solo home run off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Hector Ibarra to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
