Savannah Upended by Carson City, 6-2

The 2026 season did not get off to quite the start the Savannah Alpines had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Carson City Miners at Alpines Stadium. The final score was 6-2. Starting Pitcher Ricky Escobar was the top performer for Carson City. Escobar, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 3, walking 5, and allowing 2 runs.
Carson City used a well-timed hit by Daniel Colglazier to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Miners ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We take it day by day here," said Colglazier, "and today was a good one for us."
