Desperados Score 3-1 Win Over Julian
|
Jammers Park was the site of a tense game between the Julian Jammers and Medford Desperados.
The Medford Desperados converted a terrific effort from starter Jesus Martinez into a win over the Julian Jammers at Jammers Park. The Desperados won the game by a final score of 3-1. Martinez, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 6 walks.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Desperados had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fifth, when shortstop Jon Rook hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Scott Meredith and made the score 2-0, Desperados. Rook went 1 for 4.
Rook attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
