The 2026 season began for the Sikeston Shamrocks with a loss to the Montgomery Missions at Shamrocks Park. The final score was 10-9. Montgomery left fielder Bill Matthews had a fine performance. Lee Davidson earned the save for Montgomery, his 1st of the year.

Montgomery used the timely hitting of Rob Perrin to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Missions on top, 10-8. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Perrin said after the game.
