Jonathan Thompson was instrumental in his team's 9-4 triumph over the Aurora Paints. The third baseman was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Medford Desperados. Medford reliever Mike Allen picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jim Unknown was saddled with the loss. The Desperados, at 94-45, lead by one game in their division.
Medford took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Omar Castillo hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Desperados in front, 6-4.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Thompson.
