Aurora got a decent performance from pitcher Eric Tate, but it wasn't enough to beat the Providence Hex. Providence won the Ballpark of Providence contest, 5-3. Tate threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. D.J. Nelson earned the save, his 29th, for the Hex. With the victory, the Hex upped their record to 78-60.

Providence designated hitter Jimmy Robertson helped the Hex go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Robertson hit a run-scoring single off Aurora pitcher Eric White.

"Enjoyed this one," Robertson told the Providence Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
