Paints Win at Julian, 6-3
|
Aurora registered a win at Jammers Park by beating the Julian Jammers, 6-3. Pitcher Eric White was one reason why the Paints triumphed. Carlos Rios came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 7-6. At 40-73, the Paints claim last place in the Sub League 1 Central Division.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Ed McCarson came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Julian pitcher Jim Unknown, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Aurora on top, 5-3.
"Eric was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Aurora manager Orlando Salinas.
