The Providence Hex downed the Newport Unicorns, 2-0, at Ballpark of Providence. Stellar pitching by Frank Rivera had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who leads the SL1 with a 8.5 K/9 rate, handcuffed his opponent all game. The save was credited to D.J. Nelson, his 28th. Newport has now lost 6 straight.
