Golden Gophers Take Tight Tangle
The Golden Gophers grabbed a win, 5-4, at Rivermen Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Ottawa pitcher Tadahiko Abe. Abe went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Little Rock reliever Pedro Jimenez snagged the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ricardo Flores shouldered the loss. The second-place Lynx dropped to 89-45.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Shane Ramsey? The 21-year old right fielder Ramsey stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Little Rock up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"We were the better team," crowed Ramsey.
