Ottawa used a superb performance from starting pitcher Kieran Carlyle to down the Little Rock Golden Gophers, 2-0. Justin Pearson claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Ricardo Flores picked up the save, his 20th.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Gavin Williams came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Little Rock pitcher Jeremy Harrison, he hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Ottawa on top, 2-0.

"Kieran pitched like a champ," said Ottawa manager Nick Boyd.

Ottawa, at 89-44, occupies second place in the Sub League 1 East Division.
