Aurora beat Waco at Paints Park, escaping with a 7-6 win in 11 innings. The win in large part was due to second baseman Freddy Chavez. He was 3 for 6 with 2 triples, while scoring 3 runs. Aurora now sits at 63-65, while Waco falls to 66-62.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, 22-year old right fielder Bob Mauser had a chance to be the hero. Waco pitcher Dennis DeLong wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Mauser drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Paints had themselves a thrilling win.

"It took some doing, but we got what we came for," said Paints manager Orlando Salinas.
