In a tightly-contested game between the Santa Ana Black Aces and the Little Rock Golden Gophers, pitcher Josh Lambert was outstanding. The Santa Ana right-hander, who leads the SL1 in wins with 14, propelled his team's 2-0 win. Mike Hrdlicka was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jeremy Harrison. Rick Deyo, who leads the SL1 in saves with 31, earned the save for Santa Ana.
Joe Corcoran drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate for Santa Ana. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Corcoran had a clutch at-bat. Facing Little Rock hurler Jeremy Harrison, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Black Aces a 1-0 lead.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Little Rock manager Jose Moreno.
The Black Aces now have a record of 101-26 with the win over Little Rock.
