The Santa Ana Black Aces picked up a win at Santa Ana Stadium, dropping the St. Joseph Mighty Mites, 6-2. Omar Valentin, who is tied for 6th in the SL1 in strikeouts with 88, was the difference-maker. Valentin, who is tied for 6th in the SL1 with a 4.12 ERA, went the distance for Santa Ana. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. The Black Aces, at 72-29, have a comfortable 31-game lead in their division.
Santa Ana took a 6-2 lead on Bill Kibler's 7th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Kibler hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Joseph pitcher Jim Unknown visibly frustrated.
