In the 7-5 Little Rock win over Waco, the impact of Cody Lilley was substantial. Lilley went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Little Rock reliever Bill Thompson picked up the win to move to 11-1. Pete Bowden suffered the loss. The Golden Gophers improved to a lofty 95-29.

Lilley contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Little Rock in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, Lilley took a fastball from Pete Bowden and stroked the home run to right-center. His 22nd home run of the season allowed the Golden Gophers to leap in front, 4-2.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Lilley told the Little Rock Observer. "It's as simple as that."
