Ballpark of Medford was the site for Sub League 1 action featuring the Medford Desperados and Newport Unicorns.

The Newport Unicorns beat the Medford Desperados, 9-2, with major props going to designated hitter Pedro Quintero. On the day, Quintero was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Unicorns. Jose Zapata earned the win. Jesus Martinez took the loss for Medford.

Newport center fielder John Lendon delivered a 2-run home run in the top of the third. Overall, he went 3 for 5, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and knocked in 3.

Said losing manager Noah Alexander: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
