The Providence Hex beat the Ottawa Lynx, 5-4, in part because of second baseman Brian Kilcoyne. He went 4-5 with 4 singles. With the win, Providence raised its record to 66-55.
Providence got a clutch hit from Ross Howard. The designated hitter launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
Providence manager Dave Hale commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
