The Halifax Heathens started the Divisional Series in style today, winning on the road against the Phoenix Gladiators at Gladiators Ballpark by a score of 10-7 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Heathens shortstop Adam Bechdel excelled. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

Austin Compton delivered a solo home run for Halifax in the top of the sixth. The third baseman went 3 for 5 in the game, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 3.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Heathens manager David Morris. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gladiators Ballpark in Phoenix.
