Starting pitcher Tony Vigil gave the Ottawa Lynx a rock-solid effort. The Villa BisonĂ³, Dominican Republic native helped his team defeat the Providence Hex, 3-0, at Ballpark of Providence. Vigil got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. He allowed no runs. The Hex have now dropped 8 straight.
Jesse Stopper, who is rated as the 99th best prospect by BNN, had a direct impact on the outcome. Stopper contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Ottawa up, 3-0.
