Mounties Dominate, Sweep Wildcard Game
|
The Vancouver Mounties proved to be too much to handle for the Indianapolis Eagles in the Wildcard Game, and a sweep was the end result.
Vancouver punched its ticket to the Divisional Series on the strength of a 4-3 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 2-0.
Vancouver third baseman Jason Saunders, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Indianapolis pitching to the tune of a .667 average, with a .714 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The Vancouver Mounties will play against the San Diego Fleet in the next round. San Diego had a bye in the Wildcard Game. The Divisional Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Game finishes.
