Whitby Breaks Through for First Win in World Series; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the World Series, the Whitby Bats put on their best show, beating the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes by a final score of 1-0 today. Bobby Nowlin was special. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Whitby now trails Ft. Wayne 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

Nowlin allowed no runs on 4 hits over 6 innings for the Bats. He walked 0 and struck out 8.
