Good production from catcher Troy Gonzalez helped the Aurora Paints topple the Newport Unicorns, 18-7. Gonzalez was 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 6 for the Paints. Eric White, the winner, is now 5-1. He struck out 5 and walked 1 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 5 hits. The Paints go to 34-59 with the win.

Aurora designated hitter Tim Lunsford contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 97th hit of the season and put the Paints ahead, 2-0.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Newport manager Victor Sepulveda. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
