Phoenix Tops Mexico City Again, 5-1
The Phoenix Gladiators moved to within one game of the Championship Series today, downing the Mexico City Aztecs on the road at Estadio Azteca by a score of 5-1. Gladiators left-hander Bill Flowers had a strong outing. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 runs. The win gives the Gladiators a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Divisional Series.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jim Reemsnyder? The Phoenix right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Gladiators on top, 2-1. For the game, Reemsnyder had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Phoenix manager Matt Tamayo told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Divisional Series, it's only going to get harder."

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Gladiators Ballpark in Phoenix.
