Monaghan Gets 5 Hits
Eddie Monaghan put on a hitting clinic as the Little Rock Golden Gophers dumped the Greensboro Naturals, 11-2, at Little Rock Grounds.

The Little Rock first baseman made Greensboro defenders earn their pay, lashing Greensboro pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Monaghan said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Eddie Monaghan hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Loeck Krijgsman in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Damian Garriga in the 8th.

So far this season, Monaghan is hitting .371 with 13 home runs.
