Led by Justin Freas, the Greensboro Naturals downed the Tacoma Thunder Wolves, 8-6. Freas was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times for the Naturals. Greensboro reliever Bill Dixon picked up the win to move to 2-1. Jim Unknown suffered the loss. Stewart Elliott, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
Greensboro got a big at-bat from Glendale, California native Latrell Poff, who in the top of the seventh hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Naturals ahead, 8-2.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Poff.
The losses continue to pile up for Tacoma, which has now fallen 12 times in a row.
