Almost There: Dollywood On Cusp of CS Triumph After 3-1 Win
|
The Dollywood Partons moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the visiting Bangor Lumberjacks at Dolly Parton Ballpark by a score of 3-1. Partons left-hander Kareem Craig had a strong outing in which he threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Partons a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
In the bottom of the fourth, Dollywood first baseman Evan Anderson had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Anderson stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, Dollywood. For the game, he was 2 for 3 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Bangor manager David Whigham.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dolly Parton Ballpark in Pigeon Forge.
