The Medford Desperados soundly defeated the Newport Unicorns, 14-3, at Chanticleers Ballpark, with first baseman Lamar Bridges a major reason why. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 4 for Medford. The win gives Medford a season record of 71-38.

Medford used the hitting of Cody Griffith to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Desperados on top, 8-0. For the game, Griffith had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Griffith told the Medford Gazette.
