Reinert Blasts Bats, Suns Take Game 4, 8-3
Moriarty Suns manager Ron Kunkleman wasn't expecting much from the rookie playing in his first postseason. Maybe he should have been.

In front of a supportive hometown crowd today, 18-year-old left fielder Ryan Reinert humbled the visiting Whitby Bats at Super Solarplex. Reinert belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 as the Suns shut out the Bats by a final score of 8-3, to force a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Tony Thomas dealt the Bats a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Moriarty trailing 3-2, Thomas, who is rated as the 44th best prospect by BNN, hit a 3-1 fastball for a 2-run single.

Reinert attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Super Solarplex in Moriarty.
